Training & Development
We actively train and mentor PCTs to support them in their current or potential role as named consultees. The aim of the training is to support:
- Greater understanding of NICE TAG process and methodology (NICE methods guides)
- Invited PCTs to be active consultees Appraisals Service Flow Chart
- All PCTs to make active contributions to Appraisal Consultation Documents (ACDs)
- PCTS to Appeal against Final Appraisal Determinations (FADs) if necessary
- Training and mentoring tailored to individual PCT needs.
NEW 'How to be a commissioning consultee' guide
CSAS has produced a guide for NHS commissioning organisations participating as consultees to a NICE technology appraisal. The guide describes the role of commissioning consultees and how CSAS may be able to assist them at various stages of NICE’s technology appraisal process.
