Helping develop the public health workforce

UK Public Health and Skills Framework
In partnership with Skills for Health we developed and implemented the UK Public Health Skills and Career Framework, used to inform public health planning, training and skills for all public health workforce groups and levels. Find out more.
Improving public health intelligence skills
We are helping develop the public health intelligence skills within the South East through a joint collaboration between the SPH delivered South East Public Health Observatory and NHS Education South Central. Read more.
Embedding public health development across the workforce
SPH was commissioned by the Department of Health to support the development and implementation of the Teaching Public Health Networks. The Networks, one in each health region, aim to enhance the knowledge of everyone who can improve public health through the sphere of influence of their work, as well as create health promoting Universities and Colleges that embed health and well-being aspects of public health into core curricula for the wider workforce.
