he process starts by reading through the relevant NICE guidelines. These, including all appendices, can run into over 2000 pages. We also review relevant legislation and combine all this information into a short document of around 30 pages. This document will not only summarise this information and pull out the most pertinent points, but will also give expert views as to the quality of the evidence NICE used, so you can see if their guidance is based for example on large scales trials, or on consensus of expert opinion. We also provide an easy to use excel-based tool into which you can enter your local data to get to an estimate of the costs of implementing the guidance locally. Taken together, you then have succinct information on which to base your new or revised commissioning policies.
