Claire Cheong-Leen

Claire joined the NHS as a Graduate Management Trainee. Following posts in East Berkshire Community Health NHS Trust, Berkshire Health Authority and a secondment to Glaxo Wellcome UK, Claire joined Pfizer Ltd working in health policy and outcomes research.
In 1999, Claire rejoined the NHS to lead on clinical effectiveness and policy development and she also completed her MSc in Health Economics and Policy.

She has advised NICE as a member of the topic selection group, and, as a member of the working groups on the Review of the Methods Guide and Value Based Pricing. She has also contributed to NHS Confederation Guide to Priority Setting and the NPC Handbook on Managing Individual Funding Requests.

Her practical experience in the delivery of policy development, including principles, process and evidence means that she has a thorough understanding of the end to end policy process, including successfully withstanding challenge through judicial review.
